The Sims 4 and Moschino has been one of the most unexpected, and slightly bizarre, collaborations. Earlier this year, Moschino released a range of items inspired by The Sims video games which were extremely expensive and, in my opinion, not always that “Sims-y”.

As part of that ongoing collaboration, The Sims 4 Moschino Stuff is being released on the 13th August 2019 on PC/Mac, and early September on Xbox One and PS4, as the latest stuff pack for the franchise. As a stuff pack, this collaboration makes a bit more sense and I guess could be seen as the equivalent of Diesel Stuff for The Sims 3 and H&M Fashion for The Sims 2, which were both decent packs.

Let’s dig into some of the details of The Sims 4 Moschino Stuff Pack so that you know what you will be getting with this pack and whether it is worth your investment…

    The Sims x Moschino

Going back to the Moschino collection, this new stuff pack allows you to get new items of clothing in your game for Sims to enjoy. This includes a variety of new hairstyles, tops, trousers, shoes and full body outfits.

The new hairstyles are a welcome addition to the game and I really like them for both feminine and masculine Sims.

There are a few more feminine hairstyles, but thankfully – unlike in The Sims 3 – if you like a hairstyle you can just apply it to any Sim.

With regards to the items of clothing you get, whether you like them will depend on how much you like the Moschino collection. Particularly The Sims themed collection that was released recently. Yes… that one… with the models photoshopped into the world of The Sims.

There are some items I really like here – particularly the pink and black full outfit for feminine Sims. Though the tops, trousers and shoes don’t really jump out at me and are very medicore.

One thing to note is that the clothing, and the only accessory item (which is a pair of plumbob earrings) now looks quite outdated as The Sims 4 recently had a brand refresh featuring an updated plumbob look. Why was this not updated?

[IMG]Overall, Create A Sim is very average in this pack. Only a few items stand out to me – perhaps because I am not keen on the Moschino items in real life either? But for a pack that boats to be for this great collection, it feels a bit disappointing.

    Build, Buy and Stylised Rooms

Surprisingly, the Moschino Stuff Pack actually comes with some great items in build and buy mode!

In particular, some of the stand out items include a new door and windows which allow you to create a very modern looking build in-game. This, paired with some of the new sofas and decorative items are a welcome addition to the game.

Some of the new objects do feel a bit random and out of place, such as the weird speech bubble mirror. While the focus of this pack is around clothing, the amount of objects are very little when you consider that there are not many new clothing items.

There are two new stylised rooms – a lounge area for your Sims to relax and a new photoshoot studio which allows you to take advantage of the new gameplay elements of this pack – the freelance fashion photography career.

I love the new lounge area, especially paired with the new windows as it creates an extremely modern looking room. I’ll touch on my thoughts of the new photo studio in the next section of the review.

Overall, there are some really welcome additions to buy/build mode in this stuff pack. I think the key things people will appreciate are the new windows and door. There are some other nice items, however the collection seems very little and, obviously, this is a pack about clothing and not furniture.

    Become a fashion photographer

s a freelance fashion photographer, your Sim will grow their career with fabulous opportunities. Learn how to curate a collection and select the perfect subject to shoot, then find the right angles to accentuate the bold, stylized looks. Grow your Sim’s career as a freelance fashion photographer, live a flexible lifestyle and get inspired to shoot for the next big campaign or cover!

Your Sim can now become a freelance fashion photographer with the new stuff pack!

This pack contains new items including new objects such as a camera stand, area for your subject Sim to pose and a new object where you can set a variety of different backdrops for your Sim.

[IMG]This works very similar to the photography feature that was added in The Sims 4 Get to Work, so I won’t go into too much detail of how it works, however when taking the photo you can choose different poses for Sims and truly make it your own. Once you have taken the pictures you want, these go into your Sims’ inventory for you to show off to the world!

[IMG]I quite like the idea of being able to create your own studio and build your own photography career. You can even hire Sims to come and pose for you, so you don’t need to rely on people in your household.

Though, I will admit, from playing with this I did find it a bit underwhelming. It feels like a recycled feature from Get to Work.

    Overall Thoughts

The Sims 4 Moschino Stuff is an interesting collaboration between The Sims and Moschino. For some, this could be a dream pack to be able to wear the Moschino collection in their Sims’ games. For others, they may only want this for some of the new build items of the ability to become a freelance photographer.

Personally, I do feel like this is one of the weaker stuff packs we have had for The Sims 4 since it’s launch and probably ranks just slightly higher than Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats in my books.

There are some nice items of clothing, there are some cool new build items, and the concept of a fashion photography career sounds appealing, but the pack itself feels quite barebones and underwhelming, which is a shame.

Unless some of the items stand out to you, I’d hold out on getting this pack until it is on offer, then I would say it’s worthwhile getting.
