Do you know why red? Well, it is not to be seen from afar in the long winter. It is for different reasons and it is quite complicated but somehow, it is because the nobility had the obligation by the Crown ( of Sweden ) to keep their estate in good condition. For such, it is better to have it in stone. But, most nobility couldn't really afford it. Still, to make up to it and try to be just like the crowned one, they settled to paint their estate red. It took many centuries to actually have the paint affordable. And just like everything, it is not affordable anymore to paint your house red.
